Welcome to Mercy College of Ohio!

As the President of Mercy College and on behalf of college administration, faculty, staff, and students, it is my pleasure to share the rich heritage of the College and the vision for the future.

Mercy College, located in Toledo, Ohio, is a private Catholic institution with a focus on healthcare education. Tracing its heritage to the school of nursing founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1918, Mercy College of Ohio was incorporated in 1992 and now offers graduate, baccalaureate, associate and certificate programs. In 2002, the College expanded to Youngstown, Ohio offering the associate degree in nursing program. Students may also complete a Ophthalmic Assistant certificate using Youngstown clinical facilities. The College has experienced tremendous enrollment growth in recent years.

The faculty and staff seek to inspire students to a commitment of lifelong learning and social responsibility in the spirit of the Mercy heritage and values. The College is committed to providing all students with a high-quality education that prepares them for their respective professions.

Exciting things are underway at Mercy College with many college constituencies engaged in implementing the 2017-2021 strategic plan. The theme for the new plan is, “The Mercy College Journey: Believe, Serve, Lead, Excel.” We recently marked our centennial celebration as the College marked 100 years of making a difference in the lives of students. New programs at the undergraduate and graduate level are in development to meet the needs of the changing healthcare environment. As part of the College mission, our goal is to prepare students to lead and to serve in new healthcare delivery models.
