Eligibility for licensure and/or certification may involve more than successful degree completion. Mercy College of Ohio cannot confirm that our classes or degree programs meet the requirements for state professional licensure in all states. Licensure and certification requirements are set by agencies that are not controlled by or affiliated with Mercy College of Ohio and requirements can change at the discretion of the state/territory licensing board.

Students planning to pursue programs that require licensure or certification are responsible for determining whether they will meet their state's requirements for licensure or certification if they complete a Mercy College of Ohio program of study. Links to complete listings of U.S. State and territory may be found below. If you have trouble finding the licensure requirements for your state, please contact the Program Coordinator for your field of study for assistance.

Complaint Process for Online Programs and Courses

For all students enrolled in Mercy College of Ohio Online programs and courses:

Mercy College of Ohio is committed to providing all students with an exceptional educational experience and strives to work with students to resolve any issues that may arise. United States Department of Education regulations (34 CFR 668.43(b)) require institutions of higher education to have a process to handle complaints for prospective and enrolled students. This page describes the process and provides links to contacts. All Mercy College of Ohio distance education students should attempt to resolve complaints first with the university before contacting external agencies for resolution.

File a Complaint with the Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE)

The Ohio Department of Higher Education is responsible for responding to formal complaints against public, independent non-profit and proprietary institutions of higher education in Ohio. While the Ohio Department of Higher Education has limited authority over colleges and universities and cannot offer legal advice or initiate civil court cases, their staff will review submitted complaints and work with student complainants and institutions.
