Why pursue a Psychology minor?

Students choosing to pursue a minor in psychology, in addition to their major program of study, benefit in many ways. The two required courses (Introduction to Psychology and Lifespan Psychology) provide all students with a solid basis in the major theories and principles of psychology related to individual and group functioning across the lifespan. Additional elective courses provide a deeper understanding of various psychological principles and how they apply in everyday life.

Specifically related to the workplace, knowledge of positive communication skills with co-workers and patients (where applicable), the dynamics of group behavior, and the individual and cultural differences among people will be an invaluable skill in fostering positive interactions. Reduced stress, higher productivity, and morale may all be by-products of increased psychological knowledge.
