Youngstown Nursing Students Volunteer at UV Color Run

Kathryn Bubrig

Mercy College Youngstown nursing students and faculty volunteered at the Mercy Health UV Splash 5K by Color Dash on April 16.

This event raised awareness about sexual assault and included many local organizations and law enforcement working together. Funds from the event benefit the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Program at Mercy Health Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) to support care packages for victims of sexual violence and to promote further education for frontline care providers working with victims of sexual violence as well as community education. Our students also collected toys & art supplies to be included in care packages
